Enhancing the Sport Through Education

CalgarySportCouncil logoThe Calgary Sport Council is pleased to present a series of seminars and workshops designed to provide coaches, parents, volunteers and sport administrators with current information from experts involved in various aspects of sport. Your participation in these seminars and in creating dialogue and discussion will help elevate sport in Calgary.

Fall Courses for Coaches

CSClogoThe New CCA Club Coach Course replaces the Level 1 Technical Course.

This is the first course of the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) to be completed by new coaches/instructors. ALL coaches intending to register with a team in Juvenile and Junior Playdowns are required to be certified through the NCCP. Bantam Coaches are encouraged to take this course. Junior Coaches at the Junior Provincials must be fully certified Level 2.

Curling program volunteers and leaders are also encouraged to complete this course to assist in providing consistency of instruction to curlers.

Other individuals who may be interested are those who want to enhance their own skill and knowledge in the game including juniors and adults of all ages.

Junior Curling Instructions & Coaches can apply to have the Registration Fees for Coach & Instructional classes reimbursed by CYCA. Be sure to apply BEFORE registering for the course to ensure eligibility of reimbursement.
